Wins medal in Karate

Rotary West School: B.B. Mysuru: The following students of Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, have bagged prizes at Open National Championship organised by International Meibukan Goju-Ryu in city recently: B.B. Koushik – 1st place in Kumite and 3rd place in Individual Kata and Team Kata; V. Keerthana – 1st in Kumite, 1st in Individual Kata and Team Kata; Tarun – 1st in Kumite and Team Kata and Vasista – 3rd in Individual Kata and Kumite.

Excels in Karate, Lawn Tennis

Students of Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, bagged prizes in the District-level Karate and Lawn Tennis Contests organised by the Department of Physical Education recently. The team — H.P. Anirudh Bhargav-X Standard – Lawn Tennis, B.B. Lakshminarayana Koushik – IX Standard – Karate and Dheeraj – VI Standard – Karate — is seen with School President Rtn. S.K. Lakshminarayana, Secretary Rtn.C.R. Hanumanth, HM P. Ningaraju, Physical Education Teacher N. Nagaraju and Karate Master K. Vidyasagar.

Rotary West School emerges second in Karate Championship

Students of Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram taking part in the recently held District Level Karate Championship organised by Okhinawa Karate Arts Association won the overall runner-up trophy. Seen in the picture are RWA President Rtn. S.K. Lakshminarayana, Secretary Rtn. C.R. Hanumanth, Karate Master Vidyasagar Achar, Head Mistress Vatsala Kumar and other Asst. Teachers. Lakshmi Narayana Koushik of 8th Std won Two Gold Medals while other 13 karatekas also won medals and trophies.

Science Expo at Rotary West School

Mysore/Mysuru: The Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, had organised a one-day Science Expo for exploring the hidden talents of ‘budding scientists’ studying in various classes.

Dr. K.H. Prasad, DHO, who was the chief guest, said “Our students possess the potential to achieve greater heights of success in tackling the treasures of Science. The real strength is in serving the motherland for better development of India in future.”

Annie Joseph, Principal, Capitol Public School, Mysuru, who was another chief guest, said the models created by the students proved their interest and talents in understanding and applying the secrets of Science. They are the real assets to the nation to carry forward the vision of growth, she added.

Rtn. C.S. Ravishankar, President of Rotary West Association, said that Science demands the practical proof but not belief or superstition. India needs the most talented scientists for its future growth and those budding scientists are being nurtured in our school, he added.

Children depict energy conservation through art

Mysuru: Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. (KREDL) had organised a District-level Drawing Contest for school students with a theme ‘Energy Conservation’ at Rotary West School in Saraswathipuram here yesterday.

Over 200 students from 58 schools in the district participated in the contest. They pictorially depicted the advantages of solar power and other renewable energies along with proper usage of electrical appliances. They even explained through drawings that solar power could be generated and sold also.

Speaking on the occasion, KREDL Project Engineer D.K. Dinesh Kumar contended that a unit of energy saved is equivalent to two units generated. He opined that if children become aware of power conservation, they could convey the message to their parents also.

Continuing, Dinesh said that people switch off TV using the remote control but the mains supply will be on which consumes power. Similarly, he contended that the so-called zero-watt bulb used in puja rooms also consumes about 25% of power of a regular bulb. He further said that KREDL has been conducting such drawing contests for children every year to create awareness on energy savings. He added that cash prizes will be given to the winners and certificate for all participants.

Kala Vaibhava annual celebrations

Kala Vaibhava-2018, the Annual Day celebrations of Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, was held at Jaganmohan Palace auditorium in city recently. Children presented various cultural programmes on the occasion. Sri Ramakrishana Vidyashala Senior Lecturer S.S. Ramesh was the chief guest. Rotary West Association President Rtn. PHF PP. C.S. Ravishankar presided over the programme.

Annual Day celebrations at city schools: Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram

Rotary Vaibhavotsava, the 27th Annual Day celebrations of the School was held in Jaganmohan Palace in city recently. Rtn. Prof. PHF PP Joseph Mathew, DGN 2019-20, is seen lighting the lamp to inaugurate the celebrations as others look on. Cultural programme including Nagari performance from high school students enthralled the gathering. Head Mistress Vatsala Kumar presented the school annual report 2017-18. President Rtn. PHF PP S.K. Lakshminarayana, Secretary Rtn. C.R. Hanumanth, Treasurer Rtn.R. Suryanarayana and other Management Committee dignitaries and parents enjoyed the colourful evening.

Drill, march-past ignite patriotism on I-Day: Rotary West School

I-Day was celebrated at the School premises in Kanakadasanagar with Corporator Snake Shyam as the chief guest. Rtn. B.M. Kiran Kumar, Secretary, Rotary West Association, presided over the programme. Rtn. J.P. Aiyanna, Secretary, Rotary Club of Mysore West, was the guest of honour. Teachers, students and parents witnessed the celebration. Students presented cultural programmes.

Drill, march-past ignite patriotism on I-Day: Rotary West School

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru, presented a live demo of remote-controlled aircraft at Rotary West School in Saraswathipuram recently.

Dr. Rtn. B. Chandra, President, Rotary Mysore West (RMW), presided over the function. Dr. S.A. Mohan Krishana, Secretary, Rotary Mysore West, Dr. G.V. Naveen Prakash, HoD of Mechanical branch, were present. Prof. R. Shivashankar, Dr. Arun C. Dixit, Rtn. Aditya Desiraju, Director Youth Service, RMW, K. S. Poornima, Principal, Rotary West School, Saraswathipuram, Manjunath, Principal, Rotary West School, Kanakadasanagar, R. Satyanarayana, senior faculty and Abhilasha, Assistant teacher, were present. The faculty and students of Mechanical Engineering gave video presentation on aircraft and practically demonstrated functioning of drones.
